Melissa officinalis more commonly referred to as lemonbalm is often underrated. It is hardy and reliable growing in sun, shade, poor soils, fertile soils. Tolerates frost and drought, snow and wind. It has a pleasant lemon scent and can be container grown as well as growing in open ground. It is fast growing and works well as groundcover.
It is also edible, add it to deserts & salads or use it to make a tea. And known as a feed plant for reptiles in terrariums
This is a perennial so will enter dormancy as just roots in winter. Spring will show new growth Summer in full growth and flower. Autumn the mint begins to die back for winter. Depending when you purchase this item it may be at different stages of growth.
Plants will be sent in 9cm pot. Upon arrival unpack carefully and if dry give a little water. Acllimatise the plant to its new environment before potting on or planting out.
