Tayberries are a hybrid cross between the red raspberry and blackberries. They have larger oblong fruits which turn deep red when ready.
Prolific fruiter and hardy tolerant to snow, wind, rain, drought. Resisitant to most pests.
They are often trained in a fan or along a support to aid picking due to the thorns.
Tayberries produce heavier crops than a similar hybrid loganberry and is excellent for cooking, freezing and jam making.
We have grown these for years. They are fast growing and fruit for a couple of months in the summer. Remove any old dead growth and train new to the shape desired otherwise simple.
Comes in a 9cm pot expected to fruit within 12-24 months of being planted out. Best in full sun and fertile free draining soil.
