Ribes x culverwellii. (Jostaberry)
A cross of Gooseberry & Blackcurrant resulting in a reliable plant that produces purple black fruits that are a little bigger than a blackcurrant and a little smaller than a gooseberry. But look very similar to a large blackcurrant. Not surprisingly, their flavour is a combination of a gooseberry and blackcurrant making them wonderful for cooking and preserves - or if left to really ripen are sweet enough to eat raw.
The plants are vigorous and have excellent resistance to both pest and diseases.
Harvest in late summer. Self fertile. Best in full sun with room to grow. Can reach 1.5m x 1.5m
Plants are sent as healthy rooted plants propagated from our own healthy heavy cropping stock to guarantee good healthy plants with sweet fruits. They are approximately 20cm tall and ready to be planted out.
Comes in a 9cm pot
