Fuchsia magellanica 'Aureum'.
This fuchsia is perhaps one of the most reliable and hardy. It is deciduous and can be pruned back in winter to keep healthy and compact. In spring it bursts into life with golden green leaves followed by months of hot red and purple dropping flowers across the plant. A real contrast interesting plant.
Tolerant to frost, snow, wind, rain, drought and neglect.
A simple plant that will grow in most gardens. Even by the sea.
Happy growing in containers or beds and borders. Eventual height and spread 1 x 1m can be kept small by pruning or allowed to grow. Best in full sun although will tolerate part shade. Tolerant to the majority of soil types and aspects.
Plant is sent as a healthy young plant in p9 (0.5l) pot, grown from vegetative propagation guaranteeing the cultivar. The photo shows the parent plant in full flower. These can be grown on then planted to final position or planted straight out.
