Chamaemelum nobile. (Lawn/Tea Chamomile)
Chamomile is a beautiful herb to grow and this is a fantastic cultivar. It does not flower but instead the leaves are twice as fragrant and the taste is even better. It has also proven to be a much stronger plant, withstanding drought, foot traffic, cold, wet and winds.
The plant grows as a mat a couple of cm off the ground and spreads outwards at a medium rate. Easy to control yet fast enough to create a nice effect.
We recommend planting it along the edges of paths, in and around seats and places where it is likely to be disturbed to give off its scent.
The plant is edible and makes fantastic tea.
The herb is completely edible and can be used raw or cooked simply pick as you need it. Likes full sun and free draining soil. Looks good trailing down walls and banks. But can be planted in many locations. Also acts as excellent ground cover.
This is a perennial so will enter dormancy in winter. Spring will show new growth Summer in full growth and flower. Autumn the mint begins to die back for winter. Depending when you purchase this item it may be at different stages of growth.
Plants will be sent in 9cm pot. Upon arrival unpack carefully and if dry give a little water. Acllimatise the plant to its new environment before potting on or planting out.
