Digitalis flower in their second year and have multiple purple flowers on spikes up to 1.5m tall, they offer fantastic dramatic shape and colour in beds and borders.
They tolerate most soil types and aspects and are very easy to grow.
They last typically two years but set seed so young seedlings will grow to take over from them. The seeds can be left to naturally fall or collected and sown where desired.
