Schlumbergera. (Christmas Cacti)
A species of epiphytic cacti that are commonly known as the christmas cacti due to their typical flowering period of december/ January, Although with the correct conditions these can also flower at other times.
They are easy to grow, requiring minimal water (only water when the soil is pulling away from the edge of the pot). These are unfussy as to their light levels as long as they have some and are not in harsh direct light. This makes them a fantastic houseplant. The bud emerge and add colour for a couple of months.
Fairly problem free however if unhappy they can drop their leaves, this can occur when you first receive the plant as it is a natural response to a change in environment and settles within a few days. If not recently moved leaf drop is typically due to overwatering. In this case remove any excess water and allow to drain reduce water. Otherwise easy to grow, tolerant and gorgeous.
Comes in an array of colours. We now have around a dozen to choose from (although not all always in stock, if a colour you are looking for it out of stock please contact us as we can produce to order upon request).
We also offer 'lucky dip' colour and Tricolour.
