Oxalis 'Rosea'. (Pink Flowering Sorrel)
Oxalis come in many forms, colours, shapes and sizes each adorable in its own way. The majority are perennials some entering dormancy as roots, others as tubers, others not at all. All are ideal alpines for front of borders pots and containers. Rarely growing to more than 10-15cm.
Rosea are fully hardy oxalis with delicate green leaves and bold pink flowers, will multiply year by year and can be made into a drift or scattered about to add splashes of colour.
Lovely for underplanting and naturalising.
Will grow in free draining soils. Excellent as a glasshouse plant. Kept frost free these will stay evergreen all year.
Requires full sun or part shade and minimal water.
Plants will be shipped in a 7cm pot. (if ordered over winter these will be sent dormant plant out and enjoy as they emerge in spring)
Upon arrival unpack and water place in a cool semi shady spot to allow to recover from shipping. After a day or two these can be planted out. Dig a hole the size of the pot and fill with water. Sprinkle a handful of slow release food granules into the hole (this is optional but will give the plants an added boost and can be purchased with your order) soak the plant pot and remove the whole plant and its soil in one place directly into the hole back firm and firm in well to ensure their are no air pockets. Water in. Should the weather be hot during planting further watering may be necessary. Otherwise simply enjoy and trim back old flowers head once they have gone over.
