Chilean guava said to be queen Victoria's favourite fruit are small floral red berries around the same size as a current.
They are unlike any other fruits and are rather Moorish the plant is an evergreen shrub and once it starts fruiting it makes more and more every year often smothering the bush.
Late fruiting typically harvesting in autumn after all berries and currents. extending the picking season
We have grown these for years. They need minimal care and have put up with all weathers.
Comes in a 9cm pot expected to fruit within 12-24 months of being planted out. Best in full sun and fertile free draining soil.
Allow up to 1m in height and spread over 3-5 years. (we suggest planting short lived plants or crops around them in the short term to maximise space.
