Portulaca gilliesii
A fantastic rarely seen for sale succulent, that is great in pots and baskets ideal for sunny windows, glasshouses or conservatories. Can also be grown outside in the summer.
The leaves are compact and fleshy in a glossy green and ramble and trail.
They require full bright direct sunlight and well-drained sandy soil (free-draining gritty mix). Water sparingly less is more with these if in doubt dont. These plants are excellent for high heat and drought tolerance and will seed and spread themselves very well. These succulents require no attention at all when growing and flowering.
We find the grow very well in pottery baskets in greenhouses in full sun, dunked with a weak feed once a fortnight. Fast growing in summer and flower with the brightest pink flowers. Dormant in winter.
This is often stated as an annual but weve been growing our same original plants for many years and are confident in its lasting ability.
Protect from damp and frosts.
Comes in a 7cm pot as a young but healthy plant taken from the plant shown. Fast growing, Typically flowers in the first summer.
