Opuntia monacantha (Cacti)
This cacti is upright, shrub-like, borderline hardy and evergreen. Its branched stems divide into flattened, fleshy, spiny, ovate, segments.
As with all cacti this is a fantastic low maintenance plant that requires very little attention. Thriving on being placed in a warm sunny spot and only watered occassionally, think desert when caring for it. The cacti will grow upwards and can eventually become a statement piece in a conservatory or greenhouse reaching a metre or two tall however can be trimmed or kept in a small pot to restrict its growth if desired. A worthy cacti in any collection. Also a fantastic gift.
When repotting always use a gritty free draining mix and ensure good draining at the base, never leave sitting in water. Protect from hard frosts and excessive damp.
Comes in a 9cm pot approximately 10cm tall.
