Sisyrinchium 'Biscutella'. (Blue Eye Grass)
Sisyrinchium are a beautiful addition to any garden, Commonly known as blue eyed grass they now come in a range of colours.
Biscutella has thin dark green strap like leaves up to 10 cm tall and stunning bronze veined purple star like flowers from spring through autumn. They open and close according to the sunlight awakening in the morning and closing at night.
Excellent in beds and borders will grow in large containers but not small. Happy in any moist but not waterlogged soil also works well as a marginal. These plants bulk up well and can be split should you wish to extend your plantings. Plant in drifts or blocks for best impact.
Other colours also available they look fantastic together. Tolerant to most soil types best in full sun or part shade. Very easy to grow.Plants will be shipped in the pot size selected. Upon arrival unpack and water place in a cool semi shady spot to allow to recover from shipping. After a day or two these can be planted out. Dig a hole the size of the pot and fill with water. Sprinkle a handful of slow release food granules into the hole (this is optional but will give the plants an added boost and can be purchased with your order) soak the plant pot and remove the whole plant and its soil in one place directly into the hole back firm and firm in well to ensure their are no air pockets. Water in. Should the weather be hot during planting further watering may be necessary. Otherwise simply enjoy and trim back old flowers head once they have gone over.
