Muscari 'Comosum' (Tassle Grape Hyacinth)
Muscari are hardy spring flowering perennials. The have foliage which appears in winter and looks like a thick fleshy grass. The flowers are some of the first to flower in spring offering swathes of bright blue flowers which last for weeks and looks great in a vase. After flowering these go back to dormancy as bulbs over summer and autumn. Comes back year after year. Very hardy and very easy to grow.
These can be container or border grown. They create wonderful clumps but are not as rapid growing as the common version making them suitable to anyone.
The flowers also offer early nectar for insects.
Comosum has flowers which are similar in form to the common Muscari however has different colouring and a tufted tassle like tops.
Split every 3-5 years to ensure flowering continues. Look fantastic with yellow daffodils, pink scilla and other spring flowers. Can be used as underplanting amoung other plants.
Comes in a 9cm pot
