Commonly known as the string of bananas this succulent is very desirable the bean like strings over time grow to form the decorative hanging plants. The stems are a deep purple, the colour heightens with sunlight so the brighter it is the darker these go.
A gorgeous addition to any home
Drought tolerant and happy to be pot bound. So easy to look after. They do like bright diffuse light in the uk I suggest a hanging pot in a glasshouse or a south facing window.
Require little water, if the leaves start to shrivel it is too dry. If they start to fall off or brown or rot from the base its too wet. We find the best way is to dunk the whole plant when the soil pulls away from the edge of the pot, allow the bubbles to stop then remove and allow to drain. In the summer this is once or twice a month in the winter only if required.
Early in the summer fantastic small yellow daisy like flowers emerge from the strings which give off the most unbelievable scent. So strong you almost cant believe it comes from something so small.
Comes in a 7cm pot.
