Lychnis f. Alba (Ragged Robin)
Commonly known as ragged robin due to the nature of its petals these pretty plants grow well in damp soil and shallow water. The leaves are semi evergreen forming mounding clumps in spring through autumn. In early summer flower stems stand up t0 50cm tall and hold multiple flowers, each around 2cm across in white. A few flowers come out each day and flowering lasts a couple of months.
When out the bees adore these flowers, we have regular visitors you can set you clock by on ours.
These will seed freely if allow to set seed creating a beautiful naturalistic effect. Should you not want this simply snip off the spend flower stems,

it grows well in shallow water and looks fantastic in ponds and streams.
Upon arrival carefully unpack, water and allow a couple of days to settle in cool lightly shaded conditions before planting out. Water well until established after which little care is needed.
