Fantastic edible ornamentals.
These are fully edible plants which can be eaten raw or cooked. the leaves are attractive and form ground cover clumps through summer. these are sweet and slightly tangy, great in salads, sandwiches etc. They can also be cooked imparting interesting flavours into meals.
The tubers are dug after the first frosts and come in an array of attractive colours. Eaten raw they resemble a sweet radish they can also be cooked but there a fantastic snacking vegetable.
Easy to grow, plant in full sun in fertile free draining soil and water in well. trim leaves as required and lift tubers in autumn. Replace 1 tuber per desired plant for crops the following year. Do not need chitting simply plant out approx twice the depth of the tuber after frosts have past in containers or open ground allowing up to 30cm between plants
Comes as a potted plant in 9cm pot when in the green (summer through autumn) and as 5 good sized tubers when dormant during winter and early spring, appearance will vary depending on the time of year purchased.
