Astilbe's,
commonly known as false goats beard are fantastic hardy reliable plants. They are a herbaceous perennial meaning they enter a dormant phase as just roots in winter. The delicate new shoots show in spring opening up to beautiful green textured leaves. The flowers sit above these in summer.
Astilbe are fantastically durable plants that are a must have for any garden.
The attractive leaves emerge in spring are offer interest texture in a mounding form. Tall pink plumes of flowers stand above the leaves through summer, these can be left for autumn interest. In dry areas these can even stand through winter and look fantastic with morning frost.
This plant is particularly tough and resilient tolerating both warm and dry, sun or shade. however does particularly well in damp shady conditions and looks fantastic in swathes around ponds and watercourses.

These are fantastic in beds and borders however will grow in containers. Are best mid to back of the border depending on the border size and total height. Work wonderfully around ponds and streams are happy as a marginal.
Plant with different layered marginals such as Lysimachia nummularia 'Aurea' & Heuchera's, among others for a brilliant effect.
These are happy in sun or shade and grow well in damp conditions. A fantastic plant for that awkward spot.
These are very easy to care for hardy and tolerant to most soils will also grow in shade.
Plants will be shipped in a 9cmpot.
Upon arrival unpack and water place in a cool semi shady spot to allow to recover from shipping. After a day or two these can be planted out. Dig a hole the size of the pot and fill with water. Sprinkle a handful of slow release food granules into the hole (this is optional but will give the plants an added boost and can be purchased with your order) soak the plant pot and remove the whole plant and its soil in one place directly into the hole back firm and firm in well to ensure their are no air pockets. Water in. Should the weather be hot during planting further watering may be necessary. Otherwise simply enjoy and trim back old flowers head once they have gone over.
