Lysimachia nummularia. (Creeping Jenny)
Lysimachia are herbaceous perennials which means they lose their leaves during there dormant season as a way of surviving the bad weather. They then regrow and flower before the cycle begins again each year.
Nummularia is a creeping perennial that stands no more than a couple of cm off the ground. It creeps rambles and trails and needs very little soil excellent as ground cover, wall cover, weed suppression etc. The plant is also happy near water and is often used to blend in the edges of ponds and streams.
The leaves are rounded and green and are semi evergreen the plant enter a state of dormancy over winter where by they die back to about a 3rd the size but race on again in spring. The flowers come from late spring right through till the end of the year.
For sun or shade, (but golden colour in strongest in full sun) any soil types and locations.
Plants will be shipped in the pot size selected. Upon arrival unpack and water place in a cool semi shady spot to allow to recover from shipping. After a day or two these can be planted out. Dig a hole the size of the pot and fill with water. Sprinkle a handful of slow release food granules into the hole (this is optional but will give the plants an added boost and can be purchased with your order) soak the plant pot and remove the whole plant and its soil in one place directly into the hole back firm and firm in well to ensure their are no air pockets. Water in. Should the weather be hot during planting further watering may be necessary. Otherwise simply enjoy and trim back old flowers head once they have gone over.
