Oxalis tetraphylla 'Iron Cross'. (Flowering Sorrel)
Oxalis come in many forms colours shapes and sizes each adorable in its own way. The majority are perennials some entering dormancy as roots others as tubers others not at all. All are ideal alpines for front of borders pots and containers. Rarely growing to more than 10-15cm.
These oxalis have blousy four leaf clover leaves with a cross in the centre. They offer interest from spring through fall upon which they enter dormancy as just bulbs. The plants have lovely orange flowers in summer. Excellent in the front of beds & borders in containers baskets and more.
Will grow pretty much anywhere. A real tough reliable plant.
Grows up to 20cm tall and wide. Multiplies year by year.
Plants will be shipped in the pot size selected.
Upon arrival unpack and water place in a cool semi shady spot to allow to recover from shipping. After a day or two these can be planted out. Dig a hole the size of the pot and fill with water. Sprinkle a handful of slow release food granules into the hole (this is optional but will give the plants an added boost and can be purchased with your order) soak the plant pot and remove the whole plant and its soil in one place directly into the hole back firm and firm in well to ensure their are no air pockets. Water in. Should the weather be hot during planting further watering may be necessary. Otherwise simply enjoy and trim back old flowers head once they have gone over.
